Altered Elegance is a tailoring and clothing alterations studio dedicated to garment remodelling and upcycling. We work with pieces that still have value, whether they are everyday garments, vintage finds, or items with personal meaning.

Our process is clear and practical: we assess the garment, discuss the concept, confirm the scope, and then carry out the work with attention to construction and finish. The result is a piece that feels considered, wearable, and true to the material it came from.

Our story

A studio built on reuse

Founded in 2021, the studio was built around thoughtful alteration work and redesign projects that respect the original garment. We value honest assessment, written scope, and a finish that matches the approved concept.

The studio grew from a simple idea: clothing should be given a second life when the fabric and construction still allow it. That approach guides our redesign consultations, fit updates, and upcycling projects.

We review customer supplied materials when they are part of the project, and we explain any limits caused by wear, seam allowances, or fabric condition before work begins. If supplementary materials are needed, they are quoted separately after review.

Clients come to us for dresses and skirts, shirts and jackets, vintage pieces, and fabric reuse projects that turn leftover material into useful accessories. Each piece is handled with the same focus on clarity, craft, and realistic results.

We aim to reuse strong parts of the original garment wherever possible. That may mean keeping intact sections, reshaping panels, or turning fabric into a new accessory with a practical purpose.

Realistic results

Our work is designed to be wearable and honest. We do not promise perfect results where the fabric no longer allows them, and we check the fit or finish again at collection.
